This is a very easy gourmet Scottish smoked salmon recipe. What makes this so easy is that we won’t cook a thing; we just put it on a plate. You have a grocery store near you that sells small packages of smoked salmon and the fish is a little tough, a little fishy and doesn’t have at all the same taste as the Scottish smoked salmon. The smoked salmon shown here is very soft and buttery and melts in your mouth. I like to buy the Scottish smoked salmon whole and then cut it into six parts and freeze them. This way I can take out one part as needed and use only that. It is hard to tell from the picture below but that package of Scottish smoked Salmon is about 2 feet long and weighs about 3 pounds. Take one of the six parts (about 1/2 pound) and slice it as thinly as possible. Put it on two plates then top with capers and a little thinly sliced red onion or shallots. Add tomato slices and some brie and you’ve got an easy, gourmet breakfast in bed for two without any cooking.
